Hello, I wanted to ask everyone a question. In school we all learned about the stories of individuals who impacted our country, culture, and our world. Everyone well the majority of blind folks have learned about Louis Braille, Hellen Keller, Ray Charles, etc. I wanted to ask who do you know personally who is blind has achieved excellence? I want to learn about thos folks who haven't gotten credit for some reason. I don't know any, and I so I hope to learn from entries.

Sorry blind people are nothing but a drain on society, and there hasn't been a useful one in 50 years.

ah come on Jared. Well my foster mom said she met this woman who is pretty well off, she does something like computer programming. In this day in age, blind people seem to be very successful if they really know computers. I don't know a lot about computers other than the basics, but I hope to be successful elsewhere, like in law or youth work or something like that. I wanna be rich!

All you have to do is look on the zone and you'll find those who are successful.

I know several successful blind people personally. One is a teacher and also a musician. He plays with a local band weekends and more often during summer months when he is not teaching. I also know two successful blind computer programmers. I personally work at a rehab center and feel like I am successful. Even though my job isn't high level, at least I am employed which statistics say 75% of blind people are not. I also have a couple blind co-workers - one is the receptionist and another is a rehab teacher. Here on the zone, the first person that came to mind when reading the question was happyman. He is totally blind and a college professor. Also, Bob (blbobby) used to teach, and I believe Lou (Motifated) is a rehab teacher.

I wish more people took this topic seriously. Well, that's great about Happyman and the rest. I wanted to learn unique stories.

I know a blind man here in South Dakota that I ocnsider to be very successful.
I don't knwo how money he makes, but he has a great family and a job he loves.
He works for a local college as a counsellor and also pastors a church.
